Many times our clients found themselves in a situation where they received a payment slip after a couple of years of owning a boat in Croatia.
Below we made a list of all the fees, charges and taxes that boat owners in Croatia should receive annually:
- Annual Vessel Tax – Tax decision is issued by the Ministry of Finance, Tax Administration. The tax is determined based on the length of the boat and the KW of the engine. Payment is made to the County of the competent Captaincy.
- Mooring Fee – The fee is determined by the County Port Authority according to the length of the boat.
- Fee for Safety of Navigation and Protection against marine pollution – The calculation of the fee is determined by the Harbor Master’s Office in favor of the State Budget
- Fee for the use of Maritime Property – The calculation of the fee is issued by the Harbor Master’s Office in favor of the County of the competent Harbor Master’s Office.
The invoices are a bit confusing because the invoices are issued by the Harbor Master’s Office, and payments are made according to the competent County or the State Budget. Therefore, make sure you take a good look at the payment slip at the bottom. If you need any clarifications, please feel free to contact us or read more about our service SeaBox.
