A vessel can be deleted ex officio when its owner fails to pay the navigation safety and marine pollution protection fees for two consecutive years, as required by the Maritime Code.
The Ministry of the Sea regularly publishes a list of boats and yachts with outstanding debts, so it’s a good idea to check your status from time to time. If you own a vessel, it’s important to settle your obligations on time and, if you have any doubts, contact the port authority where your boat is registered. Port authorities can issue a Vessel Card containing all the necessary payment information, and you can also verify your payments by sending an inquiry to prigovor@pomorstvo.hr.

According to the regulation, if you don’t receive your invoice by January 31 for the previous year, you’re required to report it — because later claiming that you didn’t receive the invoice does not prevent deletion. The good news is that a deleted vessel can be registered again, but only through the first-time registration procedure and by meeting all required conditions. If your boat or yacht has been deleted, the first step is simply to contact your local port authority and start the re-registration process. Or just contact us by email at info@letterbox.hr and we can assist you. Please check out Pricelist here.
