As the local media are reporting, 22 boats burned in the BIG fire that broke out in the marina in Medulin early this morning, the fire was brought under control a little before 7 o’clock, and no one was injured.
The fire was brought under control and the firefighters were able to stop the spread of the fire to other vessels.
“Upon arrival at the scene, the non-affected vessels were divided into sectors and separated from the affected ones, and during the fire, the burning vessels were separated from the floating pontoon and the fire on them was extinguished”, reported the firefigher officer from Pula, whose members managed to prevent the fire from spreading to remaining nearby boats in the marina.
Some boats were completely burned, while others were partially extinguished, but the question is whether they will be in operation again.
The harbor master confirmed that there is pollution and that double dams are being installed, and an eco-boat was called to clean up the pollution, which, she said, is not terrible.
